September 11 :'(

Today was 9/11. At 8:46am, our principle Mrs. Granich, came on the intercom and told us this really sad story of what she was doing when the Twin Towers were hit. She told us her father had died and she was in CA for his funeral, which was set for 9/11. She was sleeping when the 1st tower fell, but someone woke her up to see the rest of the tragedy. Then she had to go bury her dad, and because of the attack she couldn't fly back home... In all of my other classes we didn't really talk about 9/11 at all. The exception was Mrs. Walker's class where our bellwork was to write a thesis statement saying what 9/11 symbolized for us. Then my Spanish teacher wouldn't even write the date for us because she does not like it.
~Bailey was in her pickle uniform today!! (ROTC) Her shoes were super shiny!! :-)
~Today is the JV football game against Armwood, which everyone says we are going to loose.
~Tomorrow is the varsity football game against King at Brandon, which I am going to see...

It is pathetic that people in education seem to ignore 9-11. I do not know of any teachers or schools that have said or done anything to do with 9-11 for 4 years or so. Actually, very little has ever been said in my school about 9-11. It is as if they are afraid they would have to give some kind of opinion or talk about reality. b-bomb
