Merry Christmas

Yeah, I know Christmas was a few days ago, but I had to post something about it.

Christmas Eve was spent at my Uncle Ish's house with my dad's side of the family. The 24th is my grandpa's birthday so we had a cake for him after our dinner. It was really good.

Christmas Day was spent at two different houses. In the morning Logan, Dalton, my parents and I were all at our house. My brother's and I all woke up REALLY early, and then had to wait for our mom and dad to wake up so we could open our presents. After opening everything my brothers set to work trying to build and play with EVERYTHING they got! They had enough Legos to open a store, and Logan received a lot of new video games! That afternoon we went to my Uncle Jay and Aunt Lauren's house for Christmas dinner with my mother's side of the family. It was all Italian. The dinner was salad, spaghetti and garlic bread. Our dessert was different kinds of chesecake and tiramisu. I made chocolate cake. It was yummy.

Happy 15th Birthday!

Okay, so I know its been forever since I posted anything and I have no excuse... Well since I last posted we have had Thanksgiving, Mckinzie's 15th Birthday, some Exams with more to come this week, and my 15th birthday, which was today. My birthday was really cool because I was only in school until 9:50 am. I had one exam today and it was in HOPE {P.E.}. That was annoying because we had to sit on the bleachers in the gym to take the exam and not sit in a desk. It was very uncomfortable! After that, my mom picked me up and took me to the mall to get my ears pierced again, right above my 1st hole. I really like how it looks. :) My family all went to Olive Garden to eat my birthday dinner and came to my house after to eat my cake {Dark chocolate fudge cake with chocolate icing and vanilla ice cream}. It was delicious! Some of my presents included a Jonas Brother's CD and a book in a series I am reading {from Grandma}, 3 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts {from my other Grandma}, a Starbucks gift card {from Uncle Jay, Aunt Lauren and Sierra}, getting my ears pierced {from mom and dad}, money {Aunt Jo}, a clear container of individually wrapped orange flavored tic tacs and money {from Aunt Barb and Uncle Germ}. It was a really fun day.

Happy Halloween!!

Today is Halloween! In Spanish we celebrated the Day of the Dead. We got candy and didn't have to do any work except color a mask. Then I got to skip 7th and 8th period because my 9th grade "College" {U University} tied with Wamba University and won a tailgate party. I didn't go trick-or-treating because there was a football game tonight which I went to with Tayla and Alex. They are both in Mann Middle School's band and got to play with Brandon's band through the whole game. Bailey was there, but I didn't get to talk to her very much because she had to sit with the other ROTC people. Mikela, Jessica and Aaron were there and Mckinzie showed up at half time in a dress because she was at a wedding before she came. Most of the other people who were at the game were parents of the middle school kids who are in the band. We ended up loosing 27-22, but for the most part it was a good Halloween.

Homecoming

Last night was the Homecoming dance. The theme was "Cirque du Retour." It was beautifuly decorated, just like everyone said it would be. My friends and I danced all night and even got some other friends who said they can't dance to dance with us. There were even people who came and preformed. Mikela had to go onto the stage when they announced our homecoming King and Queen. Last years king and queen came out to hand the crown over to the new King and Queen. Here are some pictures I took...

~Homecoming update: The voting for homecoming court started today. um.... lets see...This is an option for my dress....Do you like it?

Stink bombs, perfume, and Axe???

That's right...stink bombs, perfume and Axe... Mikela and I were in 8th period when the whole class started saying "What is that smell? It smells like fish!" Our teacher, Ms. McCutchen went into the hallway, came back in and said, "You guys are officially high school students now. Someone put a stink bomb in the hallway." Now to the ~perfume, and Axe~ part... All of us thought the fish smell was HORRIBLE but some of the "smart" students sprayed perfume and Axe all over the room. Ms. McCutchen got mad because some people could have asthma and the perfume and Axe make it worse for them... Our class room now smells like a bad mixture of fish, perfume, and Axe! It was gross...

OH! Just so you all know...Mckinzie has a boyfriend!!! His name is Zack and he asked her out today!!! :)

Armwood vs Brandon

Today at school was a pep rally. It was WAY more fun than Mann's pep rally. We had a cheer off that came down to Seniors vs. Freshman... The seniors won, but the freshman were so much louder... Freshman could have won for the first time ever! Around 5 I met Mikela, Jordan, and Mckinzie at the football field for the tailgate party. It was SO awesome...jk...we stood in the middle of a field drinking lemonade and water while listening to the same songs over and over. They had no food and it was definitely NOT fun. We went to McDonald's to eat instead. Then came back to watch out team play against Armwood... Mikela, Jordan, Mckinzie, Bernice, Jessica, my cousins Jamie and Kimberly, my friend Tyler and I all watched as we lost 41 to 0... :'( The Armwood football players are HUGE!!! It was like the smallest person on their team was bigger than the biggest player on our team...

9/11 Poem

Many people stood and watched
As the tower burned.
They thought it just an accident,
Or that was what they heard.
The second tower was then hit,
And it was by no accident.
Terrorists had attacked us
On this fateful day.
They will come to wish
That they had not messed with the USA.

September 11 :'(

Today was 9/11. At 8:46am, our principle Mrs. Granich, came on the intercom and told us this really sad story of what she was doing when the Twin Towers were hit. She told us her father had died and she was in CA for his funeral, which was set for 9/11. She was sleeping when the 1st tower fell, but someone woke her up to see the rest of the tragedy. Then she had to go bury her dad, and because of the attack she couldn't fly back home... In all of my other classes we didn't really talk about 9/11 at all. The exception was Mrs. Walker's class where our bellwork was to write a thesis statement saying what 9/11 symbolized for us. Then my Spanish teacher wouldn't even write the date for us because she does not like it.
~Bailey was in her pickle uniform today!! (ROTC) Her shoes were super shiny!! :-)
~Today is the JV football game against Armwood, which everyone says we are going to loose.
~Tomorrow is the varsity football game against King at Brandon, which I am going to see...

My Week of Vacation

~*~WARNING: This is a really long post~*~

~Friday, August 8: Logan, Dalton and I went to Disney World with my Aunt Lauren, Uncle Jay, and cousin Sierra. {Our parents were coming on Saturday.} My aunt and uncle stayed at a Disney resort called "The Beach Club." We swam for a while over there then went to Epcot. Their resort is so close to Epcot you can walk, so that is what we did. We went around the Countries that are in Epcot and stopped in France to have pastries... They were delicious! Then we went to Norway and rode the "Maelstrom" which is a short boat ride that is pretty fun. After that we left Epcot and went to Disney's "Boardwalk." On The Boardwalk there are restaurants and shops to go in. We ate dinner at a restaurant called "Spoodles." It was fun to eat there because they had performers come around to the tables to do tricks such as balancing a sharp knife on a sword by the points! For dessert we had 'make your own ice cream' where we were given vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and M&M's to put on top. Then we went back to the resort and went to bed.

~Saturday, August 9: We woke up early and had doughnuts for breakfast. Then we took a Disney Bus to Animal Kingdom. When we got there Uncle Jay went to get a fast pass for "Expedition Everest" {picture below} so that he and Aunt Lauren could ride it. I was going to watch my brothers and Sierra while they were riding it. Then we went on the "Kilimanjaro Safaris" and seen all kinds of animals. I took some pictures, but my favorite one is the one below...
Then we decided to go on the "Kali River Rapids." The wait was 50 minutes. When it was finally our turn to get on the ride it was pouring rain. I didn't care because we were going to get wet on the ride anyway, so what was a little more water... Sierra on the other hand wanted nothing more than to get out of line. Uncle Jay said he would wait while Logan, Dalton, Aunt Lauren and I rode it. We came off the ride soaked! We decided to go and eat. We went to "Flame Tree Barbecue" and had ribs and a corn bread muffin. Then since Aunt Lauren was soaked she didn't want to ride "Everest." So we went back to the resort and swam until my parents came to get us. The resort we were staying at was called "Port Orleans Riverside." My mom didn't tell my youngest brother, Dalton, that we were going to a Character Dinner, but she had told me. At 7:30 we had to be at "The Garden Grill" to eat. The restaurant is in "The Land" which is a part of Epcot. The restaurant slowly spins while you eat {you don't even know your spinning most of the time.} It is all you can eat, but you never have to get up because all the food is brought to you. While you are eating Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Chip, and Dale come to your table and take pictures with you at least two times a piece. For dessert here we had 'make your own cupcake' where you were given a vanilla cupcake, icing, sprinkles, M&M's, a cherry, and gummy worms. My cupcake looked like this...
By the time we were done it was after 1o pm, so we went back to the resort and fell asleep.

~Sunday, August 10: Today we went to Epcot...again, but we stayed longer and rode rides in the front of the park instead of going to the countries. Logan, daddy, and I rode Test Track first, while Dalton and mommy rode Journey into Imagination. Then we all rode Spaceship Earth. Logan wanted to ride Mission to Mars so our dad rode it with him while Dalton, mommy and I played games that are at the end of the ride. We did a few more things there before going to the resort and swimming again. This time Uncle Jay, Aunt Lauren, and Sierra came to our resort and swam with us. After swimming for a while Uncle Jay said they had to go home. All eight of us went to our room and changed. Then we ate dinner in the food court of our resort together before they left. After they had left we caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom, which was open late for people who were staying in a resort. By the way...It is AWESOME at night!
We rode the Buzz Lightyear ride{you sit in a two person car and shoot the Zs to get points and defeat the EVIL Zurg...} Mommy, Daddy and Dalton rode the Mad Hatter's Tea Cup (From Alice in Wonderland) ride, while Logan and I raced around Indy Speedway! Later on all 5 of us went to get on The Haunted Mansion. The outside was pretty spooky in the dark, but the inside was the same as always....
When that "frightening" ride ended we went on one of my favorite Disney roller coasters...Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. That was REALLY fun in the dark. You had no idea when a turn or drop was coming!
After the exciting roller coaster we went and had ice cream before going back to the resort.

~Monday, August 11: We had to check out of our Disney Resort today, but our vacation was far from over. Our resort has a "sister resort" called the "French Quarter" which is decorated like Mardi Gras. We went to their food court for brunch and had Beignets, French doughnuts covered in powered sugar. They were REALLY good! Then a woman who works in the restaurant came over and said they were giving away sugar cookies that we could decorate. They were not small little 5 bites and your done cookies either... They were so big that they gave us to-go boxes to put the left-over cookie in!! After that, Daddy took the boys to swim in the pool and Mommy and I went to Downtown Disney. We went into many shops, but didn't buy anything. My favorite store is the Lego store because they have a giant dragon sticking out of the lake near by {Loch Ness Monster} and a family of people with dogs, and cameras that are built entirely out of Lego's!

For "Lunch" Mommy and I ate at Ghirardelli. We had a brownie sundae... You think it looks good? You should have tasted it!! :P
Around 3-4 we went back to the boys... Both of my little brothers were hungry so we went back to the French Quarter's food court for dinner. Around 7 pm we took off towards Daytona Beach.

We found a hotel on the beach and stayed for 2 nights......

~Tuesday, August 12: We are at the beach! I have been wanting to come here all summer and we are finally here!! We were in the salt water, jumping over the waves and collecting sea shells for a while before it started to get dark from rain clouds. We changed and got into the car to go looking in some surf shops. No one found anything they wanted and Dalton constantly complained he would rather be on the beach them shopping. We went back to the hotel, but were not allowed on the beach because it was thundering and you could see some lightening. We went on the beach later that night before going to bed.

~Wednesday, August 13: Mommy and I got up at 6:00 am today to see the sun rise... Then couldn't see it because of the clouds! :( This is the best we could see it...
We had to check out at 11 so we were all packed up before we went onto the beach again. Logan, Dalton and I came home with many shells... Then we had to leave... Dalton was mad when we left Disney because he wanted to play golf on their putt-putt golf course "Winter Summerland." Well, Daytona is an hour away from Disney, and after we had been driving for an hour we turned off the interstate at the Epcot exit. Mommy kept telling daddy to turn or keep going and none of us knew where we were going. It figured Dalton was asleep when we pulled into the parking lot for the golf course. Logan and I woke him up and we went to play golf! There are two courses to choose from...a winter and a summer course. The summer one is "sand" and the winter one is "snow." We chose the winter side. It was really fun even though it wasn't cold... There were even snowmen resembling Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto.

When we were done with all 18 holes we were given a mini candy cane and a mini sharpie...

Then unfortunately, we had to go home... Our vacation was very fun and I hope we can go again next year.

Jordan's Birthday

Today was my friend Jordan's birthday. Mckinzie, Mikela, and I went to her grandmother's house for Jordan's party. All four of us REALLY like the Jonas Brothers so we decided to call them on their myspace fanline. We left them a message that said we wanted to write a song for them. Then we spent the rest of Jordan's party trying to write a song for them... The four of us even called Blake Rook to see if he and his band could help us with the music. Sadly, by the time we all went home we only had ONE line written!!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2

Last night was the sneak preview* of "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" movie. My grandmother takes my younger brothers and I to see the previews of almost ALL the movies that come out. {rated G, PG, PG 13.} Well since this was a girly movie I was allowed to invite my friends instead of the boys. Mckinzie and Jordan went with me. The movie was REALLY good but I don't want to give anything away so I will tell you about what happened BEFORE the movie... On our way to the theater, we stopped at Chick-fil-A to eat. Then about 10-15 minutes before the movie started we were playing truth-or-dare. Mckinzie had a dare to eat a VERY salty piece of popcorn. We had loads of butter on the popcorn and Jordan likes a little extra salt on her popcorn so we got a small container of salt for her to pour on it. I found a really buttered piece and Jordan rolled it in the salt. Mckinzie ate it!! Then she realized she had no drink left! {we bought a large and each had a smaller cup to drink from...we get a free refill on the drink and my Grandma's friend needed the empty large cup to get us the refill when Mckinzie ate the popcorn.} Well it was about 5, maybe 10 minutes later when Mckinzie got a drink. Then, during the movie she tried to pour the rest of the salt in to the bag Jordan and I were sharing, which is when Jordan and I stopped eating it! We had an awesome time going as a group though.

*sneak preview: when all the critics see the movie and write the reviews...Mckinzie loves going because we get posters for the movie and sometimes they have other free stuff...

BHS...day 4

Today was the last day of the Gap camp. My group met Mrs. Allen, the guidance counseler. She talked to us about what we needed to do in order to graduate. Then we went into Ms. Sainz classroom for science. We learned about the rock cycle and did a fun "experiment" about rocks. We got 2-3 crayons {with the paper off} and shaved them with a pair of scissors. The shavings went into a little tin foil cup. Then we packed the shavings together to make a "sedimentary rock." Ms. Sainz heated the "rock" so that it formed "metamorphic rock." Then we kept heating it so it made "igneous rock." We let our crayon rocks cool off then took them out of the foil cup. On the top it was just one color, but when you flipped it over it was almost tie-dyed. My "rock" was green on top and green, light green and red on the bottom. It was REALLY COOL!! After that we went to the cafeteria to meet the rest of the kids. As a whole group we played a game called "Don't be a Dot." All the kids were given a sticky note. Only 5 out of 80 sticky notes had a dot. We had to try and be the biggest group that had no *dot kids* in it. You were not allowed to show anyone your sticky note and you could ask if the person was a *dot kid* but they could lie and say no. Mckinzie wasn't listening to the rules and showed EVERYONE that she was a dot. No group wanted her in the group because they would loose if she was. She was left to be in a group by herself... But the group that won wasn't any of the groups Mckinzie wanted to be in anyway... The group that won only had 2 kids in it. After that game some parents came to school to listen to the teachers talk about Gap and AVID. We ate pizza, and chips, with soda and water to drink. Then everyone went home until the 14th {open house} or the 18th {1st day of school!!}

BHS...day 3

Today was day 3 of the Gap camp. My group met Ms. Hutches, one of the english teachers. We looked at some inventions people made and designed one that would change our life in groups of three. My 3 person group designed the "mini reading bookshelf." It has speakers and a tv built in. You put any book on it and it reads to you, or you can read the words off the screen. Then in our assigned groups with the volunteers we did a scavenger hunt to find our way around the school. It is a HUGE school! You can VERY easily get lost. We came back to the cafeteria and played a hula hoop game where we got in a circle and held hands. Then we had to get the hola hoop around the circle...TWICE!! If we stepped through 1st, then put it over our head it worked better. The volunteers gave us our schedules so everyone in the Gap camp knows who their teachers are going to be. My homeroom teacher this year is Ms. Saniz! {she is my "homeroom teacher" for the Gap camp.} I know half of my teachers already because they are at the Gap camp...

That's all until tomorrow...

BHS...day 2

Today was day 2 of the Gap camp at BHS. My group met the social studies teacher Mr. Miscasci {Mr .M}. He had us get into groups of 4-5 and write a script using 20 slang words from the 1920's. {He gave us all a sheet of paper with about 65 "slang words" on it.} Then we had to preform them in front of the rest of the group. I didn't like doing that. After that we went into the cafeteria where all 80 of us met Mrs. Boyd, the reading teacher. When she was done we played a game where the whole group got into a circle and sat sideways on their chair. {Our right side of our body was facing the back of the chair.} Then we laid down on the person behind us. The volunteers slowly pulled all of our chairs out so we only had each others legs to keep us up. Mckinie was on me and she slipped off once. The volunteers helped her {and the few others who fell as well} up and fixed the circle. Then they pulled the last chair out...BUT...Jarrett pushed his knee up which made Mikela fall AND caused the domino affect. Everyone fell! SO...for 3 SECONDS we were standing/laying on each other in a circle!! It was REALLY cool!
~Some of the student government came and talked to us about the different kinds of clubs that BHS has. There is over 100 clubs to choose from!

Today was REALLY fun over all! I can't wait for tomorrow...

BHS

At Brandon High School this week there is a camp going on called the Gap camp... I went along with my friends Mckinzie and Mikela. The camp started at 8am and ended at 12:30. It was really fun. We met some of the freshman teachers and other faculty members. There are about 80 incoming freshman total and we are spilt into 5 groups. There are volunteers who are in charge of each group. They are incoming juniors and seniors.
~We have a "homeroom" each morning for 30 minutes where we work on study skills. My groups homeroom teacher is Ms. Sainz (pronounced "signs").
~Then we went to Ms. Kolzowski {Ms. K} for math. we made an optical illusion using a ruler and a daisy using a compass.
~The volunteers took us to the cafeteria where we had a snack and met the faculty members.
~Then we went back to our groups where we made a "human knot" by putting our arms over each other and holding the hand of the person two people away from us. Then we had to "unknot" and form a circle without letting go. My group made a figure 8, but not a circle. With all 80 of us we got in a circle and held hands. The teachers told us to keep 5 balloons in the air without letting go. It was a lot of fun.

"Cupookie Creation"

~so tonight, I spent the night at Mckinzie's house. It was a little boring in the beginning, but things took a turn when we decided to make our own cookies without using any recipe. It was gonna come from our OWN minds.
~{cup-ookie}:" noun; the mix between a cupcake and a cookie."
~the #1 rule in making our cupookies is to use ingredients you have at hand.
~We just kinda brainstormed about what would taste good in a normal cookie. We, to be a little bit vague about it, used some things like hersheys syrup and red sprinkles. And then, the basics... you know what they are{milk, eggs, ect.}. We wont elaborate on the ingredients or directions, but we want to point out one of our discoveries during our experiment. When working with the sprinkles and a few other ingredients, our small side bowl ended up looking like strawberry milk. That, actually, made our recipe even more special. And in the end, we had spots of red in the cupookie!! So, your probably wondering how in the world we came up with the name " cupookie." Well, its quite simple. Our mixture of ingredients ended up a little too runny, so we decided to use one of those cupcake pans with the paper holders!! :) So, after a bit of this and that, ( very original ideas I might add) we baked them. Well, when we took them out ate ate one, we found they were a bit mushy in the center. They were a little flat and they looked kinda like a cookie. Since they were made in a cupcake pan, but looked like a cookie we named them cupookies!! We let the 2nd batch cook a little longer and they came out fluffy and perfect! Then, when that batch was done, we put the original batch back in to bake some more. Thus, Mckinzie and I created the cupookie. ( My made up recipe, our Brains, Mckinzie writing down the measurements, our handywork, and our creation...) And just so you know...we did this at 1:00 in the morning and they were delicious!! :)

Courtney...

Courtney is going to VA today. She is leaving at 6 am. I am very sad that she has to move. Her birthday is in a couple days and her friends in FL can't even celebrate it with her. :(

I'm Bored...

I am so bored. Summer is usually fun but with the high gas prices we haven't been able to do as much. The rain is getting on my nerves. I can not get a hold of my friend Courtney who is moving to VA. :( I made a scrapbook for her with pictures of all her FL friends and want to give it to her before she moves (sometime this week). Her home phone is disconnected and no one else knows if she when she will be at home. I want to go swimming, but we don't have a pool...I am writing this for no reason...well, other than the fact that I am really bored.

Mikela's Birthday Party

My friend Mikela had a sleepover from Friday to Saturday (11th-12th) for her birthday. It was so much fun. There were eight girls all together. On Friday night, we ate pizza and 6 of us listened to a very interesting debate between our vegetarian friend {Courtney} and our meat loving friend {Bailey}. After the debate was over we played "Imagine If". Then while we were getting our sleeping bags ready Courtney slid on a blanket into Mikela's coffee table and china cabinet. Mckinzie was attacked by one of Mikela's cats. While we were laying down one of the cats was hitting around a bottle cap, which ended up around Bailey's legs. The cat then tried to attack Bailey. Sometime between 5:30 and 7am we were all asleep! At 9:30am we all got up and ate chocolate, blueberry and banana nut muffins, along with apples, grapes, and strawberrys. Around 10:30am we were off to the mall. We went into SO many stores, but I think that the groups favorite was American Eagle, where we met Kyle. :) We ate lunch from about 3-4, and went back to Mikela's house where we waited for our parents to pick us up.

NASCAR

My favorite sport to watch is NASCAR. Some people say it's not a sport, while others consider it a way of life. Saturday (July 5, 2008) was the Coke Zero 400 for the Sprint Cup Series. My dad took my brothers, (Logan and Dalton), my mom, grandma, and I to see it. We live 2 hours away from Daytona International Speedway which was where the race was. We were at the race track at 10:00 am. The race did not start until 7:30 pm. We walked around the many trailers full of merchandise for the drivers. We made stops at all our favorites- Bobby Labonte for Logan, Tony Stewart for Dalton, Dale Earnhardt Jr. for my mom and I, and Dale Sr. for my dad. We put all the free things we got in the car and came back to the track for a late lunch/early dinner. We paid for an all you can eat buffet which had hamburgers and hotdogs with chips. The drinks were Coke products and water. After we finished eating we headed for our seats. They were on the backstretch. My dad brought scanners to listen to the drivers communicate to their crew. The race began and my brothers and I didn't once leave our seats. Our eyes were glued to the cars speeding around the oval track. With only a few laps to go, there was a wreck on the track. NASCAR tries to always have green flag finishes, so they had the pace laps and started their final laps again. Of course, someone (Jeff Gordon) wrecked. No caution was called so the drivers kept going. On the final lap there was a huge wreck and the race ended. Kyle Busch (a driver no one in my family likes) won, and my favorite driver Dale Jr. finished 8th. We dropped my grandmother off at her house and went home to sleep. By the time we got inside the house it was 4:30 am on Sunday!

Bowling

I go bowling every Monday afternoon during the summer with my brothers, Logan and Dalton, and my friend Mckinzie. Today was fun especially for Mckinzie. She got four strikes in a row...and she just started bowling on a league! She made my brothers and I laugh so hard today because she fell out of the rolling chair and then she slipped on the bowling lane! :-) But, I guess her clumsiness is one of the things that makes her a one of a kind friend!!
