My Week of Vacation

~*~WARNING: This is a really long post~*~

~Friday, August 8: Logan, Dalton and I went to Disney World with my Aunt Lauren, Uncle Jay, and cousin Sierra. {Our parents were coming on Saturday.} My aunt and uncle stayed at a Disney resort called "The Beach Club." We swam for a while over there then went to Epcot. Their resort is so close to Epcot you can walk, so that is what we did. We went around the Countries that are in Epcot and stopped in France to have pastries... They were delicious! Then we went to Norway and rode the "Maelstrom" which is a short boat ride that is pretty fun. After that we left Epcot and went to Disney's "Boardwalk." On The Boardwalk there are restaurants and shops to go in. We ate dinner at a restaurant called "Spoodles." It was fun to eat there because they had performers come around to the tables to do tricks such as balancing a sharp knife on a sword by the points! For dessert we had 'make your own ice cream' where we were given vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and M&M's to put on top. Then we went back to the resort and went to bed.

~Saturday, August 9: We woke up early and had doughnuts for breakfast. Then we took a Disney Bus to Animal Kingdom. When we got there Uncle Jay went to get a fast pass for "Expedition Everest" {picture below} so that he and Aunt Lauren could ride it. I was going to watch my brothers and Sierra while they were riding it. Then we went on the "Kilimanjaro Safaris" and seen all kinds of animals. I took some pictures, but my favorite one is the one below...
Then we decided to go on the "Kali River Rapids." The wait was 50 minutes. When it was finally our turn to get on the ride it was pouring rain. I didn't care because we were going to get wet on the ride anyway, so what was a little more water... Sierra on the other hand wanted nothing more than to get out of line. Uncle Jay said he would wait while Logan, Dalton, Aunt Lauren and I rode it. We came off the ride soaked! We decided to go and eat. We went to "Flame Tree Barbecue" and had ribs and a corn bread muffin. Then since Aunt Lauren was soaked she didn't want to ride "Everest." So we went back to the resort and swam until my parents came to get us. The resort we were staying at was called "Port Orleans Riverside." My mom didn't tell my youngest brother, Dalton, that we were going to a Character Dinner, but she had told me. At 7:30 we had to be at "The Garden Grill" to eat. The restaurant is in "The Land" which is a part of Epcot. The restaurant slowly spins while you eat {you don't even know your spinning most of the time.} It is all you can eat, but you never have to get up because all the food is brought to you. While you are eating Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Chip, and Dale come to your table and take pictures with you at least two times a piece. For dessert here we had 'make your own cupcake' where you were given a vanilla cupcake, icing, sprinkles, M&M's, a cherry, and gummy worms. My cupcake looked like this...
By the time we were done it was after 1o pm, so we went back to the resort and fell asleep.

~Sunday, August 10: Today we went to Epcot...again, but we stayed longer and rode rides in the front of the park instead of going to the countries. Logan, daddy, and I rode Test Track first, while Dalton and mommy rode Journey into Imagination. Then we all rode Spaceship Earth. Logan wanted to ride Mission to Mars so our dad rode it with him while Dalton, mommy and I played games that are at the end of the ride. We did a few more things there before going to the resort and swimming again. This time Uncle Jay, Aunt Lauren, and Sierra came to our resort and swam with us. After swimming for a while Uncle Jay said they had to go home. All eight of us went to our room and changed. Then we ate dinner in the food court of our resort together before they left. After they had left we caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom, which was open late for people who were staying in a resort. By the way...It is AWESOME at night!
We rode the Buzz Lightyear ride{you sit in a two person car and shoot the Zs to get points and defeat the EVIL Zurg...} Mommy, Daddy and Dalton rode the Mad Hatter's Tea Cup (From Alice in Wonderland) ride, while Logan and I raced around Indy Speedway! Later on all 5 of us went to get on The Haunted Mansion. The outside was pretty spooky in the dark, but the inside was the same as always....
When that "frightening" ride ended we went on one of my favorite Disney roller coasters...Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. That was REALLY fun in the dark. You had no idea when a turn or drop was coming!
After the exciting roller coaster we went and had ice cream before going back to the resort.

~Monday, August 11: We had to check out of our Disney Resort today, but our vacation was far from over. Our resort has a "sister resort" called the "French Quarter" which is decorated like Mardi Gras. We went to their food court for brunch and had Beignets, French doughnuts covered in powered sugar. They were REALLY good! Then a woman who works in the restaurant came over and said they were giving away sugar cookies that we could decorate. They were not small little 5 bites and your done cookies either... They were so big that they gave us to-go boxes to put the left-over cookie in!! After that, Daddy took the boys to swim in the pool and Mommy and I went to Downtown Disney. We went into many shops, but didn't buy anything. My favorite store is the Lego store because they have a giant dragon sticking out of the lake near by {Loch Ness Monster} and a family of people with dogs, and cameras that are built entirely out of Lego's!

For "Lunch" Mommy and I ate at Ghirardelli. We had a brownie sundae... You think it looks good? You should have tasted it!! :P
Around 3-4 we went back to the boys... Both of my little brothers were hungry so we went back to the French Quarter's food court for dinner. Around 7 pm we took off towards Daytona Beach.

We found a hotel on the beach and stayed for 2 nights......

~Tuesday, August 12: We are at the beach! I have been wanting to come here all summer and we are finally here!! We were in the salt water, jumping over the waves and collecting sea shells for a while before it started to get dark from rain clouds. We changed and got into the car to go looking in some surf shops. No one found anything they wanted and Dalton constantly complained he would rather be on the beach them shopping. We went back to the hotel, but were not allowed on the beach because it was thundering and you could see some lightening. We went on the beach later that night before going to bed.

~Wednesday, August 13: Mommy and I got up at 6:00 am today to see the sun rise... Then couldn't see it because of the clouds! :( This is the best we could see it...
We had to check out at 11 so we were all packed up before we went onto the beach again. Logan, Dalton and I came home with many shells... Then we had to leave... Dalton was mad when we left Disney because he wanted to play golf on their putt-putt golf course "Winter Summerland." Well, Daytona is an hour away from Disney, and after we had been driving for an hour we turned off the interstate at the Epcot exit. Mommy kept telling daddy to turn or keep going and none of us knew where we were going. It figured Dalton was asleep when we pulled into the parking lot for the golf course. Logan and I woke him up and we went to play golf! There are two courses to choose from...a winter and a summer course. The summer one is "sand" and the winter one is "snow." We chose the winter side. It was really fun even though it wasn't cold... There were even snowmen resembling Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto.

When we were done with all 18 holes we were given a mini candy cane and a mini sharpie...

Then unfortunately, we had to go home... Our vacation was very fun and I hope we can go again next year.

OMG Beignets! We had those at a cafe in New Orleans (pre-katrina)and they were soooo good. The sunrise in Daytona was the same for us. All week it was cloudy and we could never get a good view. We had lightning when we were there too, but according to my dad it was just heat lightning (which looks awsome at night), but of course there was no thunder. Dalton sounds like my brother, he wanted to be on the beach 24/7. Well, your trip sounded like it was lots of fun and I hope you enjoyed it. Ttyl, Jordan.
